2019 Denakkanaaga Elders and Youth Conference

The 2019 Denakkanaaga Elders and  Youth Conference will take place June 4,5 and 6, 2019 in Nulato, Alaska. The theme of the conference is
“Serving Others: A Traditional Native Value Guiding Us: Honoring Poldine Carlo”
Nulato is the hometown of the late Mrs. Carlo, a prominent Native leader who founded Denakkanaaga in the early  1980’s.  Mrs. Carlo passed away May 9, 2018 at the age of 97.
Delegates from Interior Alaska’s 42 villages, as well as Native, regional and state officials attend the gathering to discuss issues affecting Interior Native youth and elders.
